The
great vintage year of 1998 gave rise to this wine
which is the result of replanting with Vin De
Pays vines begun by Diane Losfelt in 1990.
This is the wine which asserted itself imperiously
in January 1999 at the tasting by the foursome
Jean Natoli (oenologist), Pascal Glas (cellar
master), Constance Rérolle and Diane Losfelt.
Since then it has been developed to be the high
end of the estate's Vin de Pays.
50% Syrah and Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Carignan
for the other half give this wine its highly expressive
palette of aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry, olive
paste and sweet pepper), with mature full velvety
flavours shot through with vanilla, the result
of properly dosed oaking (12 months). An appetising
wine with a satisfying ageing potential of 3 to
5 years.
